Air Commodore Ishaku Komo

HRM Air Cdre Ishaku Komo (retd) was born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Komo Kwasba on 25 November 1953 at Bar, then Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Nigeria.

Ishaku was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as a Pilot Officer in December 1974, with anti-date of 02 July 1973. He attended Ground School at the Primary Flying Training Wing (PFTW), in Kaduna between 1974 to Dec 1975.

Licensed Air Traffic Controller after attending the Basic Air Traffic Control School, Shawbury, Royal Air Force, United Kingdom from Dec 1975 – July 1976. He became an Aircraft Interceptor Controller at the Fighter Control School, West Drayton, Royal Air Force, United Kingdom in 1980. After attending the Junior Command and Staff School (JCSS) in Kaduna, in 1982 he was qualified to bear ‘pjsc’ after his name. As a member of the Senior Command and Staff College, Jaji between 1988 – 1989
he was awarded ‘psc’.

Ishaku had a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology through the International Correspondence Institute (ICI) and the Theological Seminary of the Cornerstone University of Ohio (USA)/Jerusalem (Israel) in 1993.
He attended the National Defence College (NDC), Islamabad, Islamic Republic of Pakistan to obtain MSc in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azim University, between August 1998 and July 1999.
He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Theology by the Pan African Christian Theological University (PACTU) Abuja Campus, in August 2005.
He studied for a Doctorate Degree in Philosophy with New Dimension Seminary, Lagos, and graduated in December 2005.
